Got this idea from another thread.

Share some good stories. Anything of interest involving danger, knives, loan sharks, etc etc.

I have so many. Will start off with this one:

About 10 years ago or so lost over 3K in one week. I really had no clue what the hell I was doing. I did not have it. Owed a local. So I was sleeping with this girl I worked with (cheating on my gf who also worked there, oops) and I told her about it and she came up with the 3K+ for me.

We had a repayment plan in place. I made the first payment of about 300 or so. About two weeks later she fell in love with some other guy and ended up marrying him. But she lost all contact with me so I never ended up paying her back. I would try to get in touch with her but she wouldn't reply. She was willing to cut loose 3K. That was pretty awesome.

I have some violent ones too.

Michgan/Ohio St might be the only rivalry in the nation where the hate is stronger. There are plenty of genuine in-state rivalries where there is deep hatred but I don't think there is any more so than Alabama/Auburn.

You do know that the teams stopped playing each other because the rivalry had gotten so out of hand, don't you? The state legislature made the schools resume playing each other.
 
its amazing how many people come up with the very same excuses of when they cant pay....

I had to go out of town... (i suppose they didnt have a phone where you were eh guy)
i got sick... (you still get a paycheck when you get sick)
my mom/grandma went into the hospital... (im sorry to hear, people get old and die, pay me you deadbeat fuck)

the list really goes on and on, but those are the 3 that you will hear from absolutely everyone when they need more time to pay
 
Well this one doesn`t involve knives or guns which is probably a good thing as I would have used them on myself at the time. As many of you know i bet horses for a living and nowadays have my own little betting machine at my table so i`ll never get shut out of my bet, with a tv of the action right in front of me. However 10 years ago this wasn`t the case though It was understood by many that a certain machine would be mine if I was betting. To make a long story short I`m at the machine ready to make my bet and one of the horses has to go back to the paddock for an equipment repair. This usually involves about a five minute delay so I use this time to go to the bathroom knowing i`ll get back out in time which I do. Unfortunately someone is at my machine now so I have to go to another one that isn`t located right in front of a TV set so I can see if anything arises right at the start of the race. I go to that machine, bet 3 triactors wheeling my 10-1 shot in all 3 positions in the triactor. I stay at my machine and strain to see a far TV for the start of the race. As I`m doing so the track announcer says that the horse i had wheeled made a break before the start so I quickly cancelled all 3 tickets. Well lo and behold Mr. Announcer mistook the horse that broke stride and my horse had in fact a very clean start. I watch as in the first few strides of the race (harness racing for the record) the 3-5 favorite who my ticket was basically playing against made his break so now the first two choices in the race are out of it and my 10-1 shot proceeds to run second to an 80-1 shot with a 40-1 shot third and my ticket has the word `cancelled`beside it. Nobody had the triactor which means my ticket would have been the entire pool which would have been approximately $40k. I took a 3 month betting break after that.
 
damn Bread, some girl was willing to give up 3k just to stay away from you.
...well, I guess I once gave up $500 to stay away from a girl.

tough story Cobra. Thank god for casinos. Parimutual betting is such pain in the ass. I've pretty much conceded to the races. :hattip:

Reno...you are looking at it wrong. She was WILLING to give me 3K to get me out of a jam. Then timing got out of the way and she met mr right. I was just a fling. She made the right call, sir!
