Habs are pretty much a lock to make it. Playoffs are shaping up to be epic this year, anyone can win the East.

Habs won't go deep into the playoffs due to a team not being very deep and a mental meltdown by Price.

Price certainly seems to have matured off the ice which most likely has lead to his much improved play this season. I think the Habs are too small, inexperienced and not deep enough for this years playoff run. Of course I could be wrong.

Because I didn't need to wait until it was a mathematical certainty. At the point I made this thread, they'd lost two straight or so, and there were something like eight games left. The Devils would have needed to go 8-0 to get to 89 points to have a 39% chance of making the playoffs.

I was willing to take my chances that that wouldn't happen.
