I had to find a new barbershop today as the one I've gone to forever is now out of my way.

I stopped at two places on way home. Both had one barber working, and three people waiting. I'll never wait an hour for a haircut.

So I found one more, not too far from my house. All-Pro Cutz it was called. Dark tinted windows in a shady little plaza next to a 7-11 in kind of a white trashy area. No matter.

I walk in and it's like a scene from Barbershop. Four young black guys as barbers, all black customers. So one of the guys comes to the counter and asks if I'd like a haircut. I started laughing and said "Yea do you guys cut my hair?"

LOL. I can see how that might be considered racist, but I was taken back, and also I know there are many white barbers/hairdressers who wouldn't have a clue what to do with a black person's hair. Even though my hair is pretty simple to cut, I assumed maybe it's the same? I dunno.

He just chuckled and said "Yeah no problem."

Then they called for the hidden white barber they keep in the back to do my hair. LOL.

While I was there a mild altercation broke out between one of the barbers and a big offensive lineman looking brutha that walked in. The barber said "You ain't in New Yowk no mo homey so you bess be steppin'."

The barber who initially approached me said "Hey hey naw we gots a new client in here. Calm down."

The big guy left. I thought I was going to die in the barber chair like in one of those old gangster movies.

My haircut looks pretty tight though. Is that what they say? "Tight?"
