With the opening match mere hours away, World Of Goals this week used World Cup fever to launch a new player ranking index. Bearing in mind that the World Cup is being held in Africa for the first time and particularly in South Africa, where the apartheid system divided the country for over forty years last century on the basis of skin colour, I think they could have come up with a better name for their index.

The WoG Index uses an algorithm to calculate the value and impact of all statistics that are important in Fantasy Football Leagues. These include goals, assists, playtime, clean sheets, yellow and red cards and more. The index rewards players with a total score after every match and shows which players performed best based on actual data.
