A lot of you sharps don't have to work at all, and I fully respect that. I'm not there yet.

Pros - Abundant.

No commute. Do what I want when I want. Drink if I want, but can't sound drunk to clients. Eat what I want. Exercise. Get my balls licked if I like. As long as you are on point for the client.

I produce it works. If I slack, it sucks. Got to give em what they want.

Discipline is key. How hard is it to wake up at 8 am and then still be putting files in at 10 Pm. But shit the files run the show and it's just that simple.

Taxes=nightmare. Pay someone else to do it.

The night before takes discipline if you are going to really get into it.

Be where you want when you want. Just keep it straight and be there for your clients and your home office.

But to not actually live the dream of ABCing someone while you are getting your balls licked drunk off your ass pulling a Costanza trifecta with a submarine sandwich in one hand and the Sox game...now that akes discipline.

Anyoen else work from home?

I don't even know how to tackle that topic, too many variables. I've worked from home for the last 2.5 years and I'm going back to a traditional desk job. Can't wait.

I contend that most of us fuck-ups shouldn't work from home, especially those without families (that's also most of us.)

I quit my job and became self-employed last Halloween. Worked from my house exclusively until April of this year, and was lucky enough to find some office space that I share with a really good bookeeping service that I do work for (I am a CPA). After 6 months of working from my home, I was bat-shit crazy to get out of it. I now split my time about 60% remote office/40% home office now (except during deadline seasons like what is coming up now), and I think it helped save my sanity. It works out good because I don't actually pay rent to her, just do tax returns for her bookeeping clients when I am there, and meet with my own clients there instead of here.

Big pluses early on (i.e. slacking off, working at night rather than all day, own hours), but it kinda lost its luster after awhile.....

Where do you work? My current CPA annoyed me a bit. I could replace. Quickly.

That is one aspect of it. There's also the fact that commuting to a remote office forces you into a schedule and requires you to be presentable.

Food. Smokes. Shit man taking a dump without worryning about the ladies. Lunch breakto do wtf u want and com eback when you want. The time and proper thought put into an actual professional dress code. Been there. Yes it makes you grow up some in a way. But fuck it I say.
