Why does FIFA schedule World Cup matches at the same time?

Mexico and Frech matches are both on @ 10:00 AM Eastern tommorow.





I don't get it. I'm pretty sure they did this in 2006 too. I love 6-7 hours of World Cup a day.


Doesn't it cut down on ad revenue and overall interest (to a lesser extent)?

To prevent match fixing or collusion between teams. All groups play there 3rd game of the group at the same time.

Just a random guess. But, something to do with them being the last group games and trying to not affect play in other games. IE if one team needs another to win/tie or whatever, if they happen to play at the same time that makes that harder to know. I haven't looked at the schedule enough though. Are all the same time games in the same group or not?
