A house on Kealakekua Bay on the big island is anywhere from 6-14k a month. Baseball season will be over and I really want to spend an extended amount of time in Hawaii. We stayed a night at an amazing house in Kealakekua bay with friends awhile ago and I've been jonesing to go back ever since. The waters there are indescribable. I wanted to post video, but every one I saw just didn't do it justice. With rentals on the bay, you walk out your back door and in ten seconds you're swimming with dolphins and sea turtles. Besides the week long trips hiking into the back country, this was one of the most amazing places I've ever been.
From Wikipedia: Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins frequent Kealakekua Bay, especially in the morning. The bay serves are a place for them to rest, feed, and a nursery for mothers and their calves. Due to the calm water conditions, extensive coral reef, and thriving underwater life, Kealakekua Bay offers some of the best snorkeling and diving in Hawaii. In the shallow waters adjacent to the monument are best for snorkeling and Scuba diving.
From other things I've read, kealakekua bay is one of the top ten snorkeling sites in the world.
So how many of you yahoos are going to join us? If we get 14 of yous guys, that's only a grand a piece on the upper end. We can make it a "Hawaiian Think Tank", then write it off. Seriously, 30 days of chances to get Mr. X drunk and learn his gambling secrets....priceless.
Here's just one listing. I'm emailing our friends to see if I can find the place we stayed at before. http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacation-rentals/163.html
