I have eaten at restaurants over 20 times for the holiday.

This year we dine at:

Getting grocery store take out ..$40 for turkey breast, 3 sides for 4 and rolls...pick up today, heat up tomorrow. .I bought a pie for mom. I thought about cooking....for about 20 seconds. Best of both worlds...stay at home and watch football, and not have cook/clean up a whole lot.

I'm not one to celebrate bullshit like this (plus, Thanksgiving was last month) but going to a restaurant for any family-oriented holiday seems a bit odd.

I thought every Murkan was flying back home for Thanksgiving.

Past 6 years, yo.

2012, NY NY: http://stantonsocial.com/ (More scenester, less about TG)
2011, Rhinebeck NY: http://www.ariellerhinebeck.com/ (AMAZING)
2010, Montclair, NJ: http://www.highlawn.com/ (Over priced and just ok)
2009, NY, NY: http://www.oneifbyland.com/ (It was delish)
2008, NY, NY: http://www.scalinifedeli.com/ (I LOVE THIS PLACE)
2007, NY, NY: http://ny.eater.com/tags/tavern-on-the-green (CLOSED)

Took a girl to Oneifbyland.

Everyone thought I was going to propose.

The whole night everyone from the busboy to the matre d was staring..waiting for me to pop the question.

Awkward.

That was point of the thread. We have a small family so it's not very practical to cook a large meal at home. Unfortunate.

Have you been watching a lot of vintage South Park lately or something?

They (Americans) coined the term 'Merica or Murkans a while back.

I guess it's cute when Canadians say it.. :dunno:
