What's the difference?

I've noticed that the ipad has really split the public and i'd like to get some more opinions on it.
I'm an avid book reader and i would only buy the ipad for its ibook features, would you recommend me to wait and get the ipad or just buy a kindle? the kindles are cheaper on amazon.com

The difference I think will be the other features the IPad will have. ITunes for movie and music download.

If you are thinking strictly for book use than go with the kindle, I think.

I got an iPod, it's OK. Broke after about 18 months. Never saw the point of an iPhone since I'm not desperate for that level of internet access but I actually like the idea of the iPad. I borrowed a friend's Kindle for a week and it was pretty good but then again, I don't read a lot of books and I prefer to read a physical book so it's out for me. I prefer to use a laptop around the house so the iPad probably not the gadget for me, either. If I were you I'd buy the Kindle if you're just looking for a book reader - but make sure you know all the functions of the iPad, you never know what you might want in the future.

Are the books themselves going to be priced the same? It would be nice if there was a little price war to buy them cheaper.

Oh god I hope he got a Kindle. You should not read books on the Ipad as it is a backlit electronic screen and it is bad for your eyes. The Kindle's display is made up of physical particles, those are actually black specs like an etch-a-sketch.

For god sakes I hope he did the right thing. I am worried about his vision. Pistol, check in please.
