So what DO we do about mass murder? I care. I'm ready to take action. What do I do?

Do I write a letter to Washington that means absolutely nothing, because even if millions of us did so, our voices would still be ignored in favor of huge campaign spenders?

Do I protest? Where? When? Again, will my voice matter, or be ignored because the government won't touch the NRA?

I'm getting pretty sick of reading posts on Twitter and Facebook about how we should "do something". I'm getting sick of hearing it on TV from celebrities and politicians.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO? WHAT CAN WE DO? Are we not, as citizens of the United States of America in 2015, completely powerless against Big Government at this point?

Help me understand how I can make a difference, because I can't figure it out on my own.

It will change, Dave. America often lags behind the civilized world, but the light will go on eventually.

Hey! Mass murder! If we do what other people are doing that results in less of that, we can have less of that too!

Much like universal health care, it will probably happen kicking and screaming - but it will happen.

In the meantime, don't get too attached to anyone.

Less mass murder - is that something you might be interested in?

stop glorifying violence (most importantly starting and supporting wars)
get a focking clue about politics and history
punish bullying and teach respect in school.

..but mainly the whole system is focked. You can't take one symptom in isolation. Thats what makes us Americans, occasional mass murder.

I dont see the connection between starting wars and general violence. General violence like movies, video games etc, I see that. Teaching respect needs to come from the home and not school. Unfortunately there are too many broken homes and the kids are the ones who suffer. My SIL is a 2nd grade teacher and spends far too much time teaching kids things that parents should be teaching at home. When that happens, the kids that are hurt are the smarter ones as they are held back per se, so she can bring the other kids up to an acceptable speed.

What is the answer? Heck if I know, but it must start at home.

Of course the attitude of accepting constant war and hence lacking empathy is related to local violence .

In terms of school, in my experience I saw a fair amount of bullying and crap that teachers allow to go on, if not encourage. Not to mention teaching kids a bunch of bull without encouraging any critical thinking.

I never saw that but I was in a very small school. The teacher/student ratio was very low. If there was bullying, kids just fought back, now they enter them in special classes. Then again, I think there was 2-3 kids in my graduating class that was from a broken home, now I bet its closer to 50%. I'm sure in the inner-city, its closer to 75%.

LETS CREATE MORE GUN FREE ZONES FOR THE GROWING NUMBER OF CRAZIES WHO LIKE TO GO TO GUN FREE ZONES AND EXECUTE GUN FREE KIDS

Canada lets most people buy guns after going through the proper training and checks.

Lots less murders per capita. We have crazies and ruhtards too. Ask Blitty.

Lots less murders.

Agree 100%.
