Looking for an opinion or two on this one..

Last week I got re-paid an old, old debt out of the blue; only it was from lending someone cash on Pokerstars, so he paid me back on there instead of an e transfer or anything else. Buddy paid me back with some nice interest. Thing is, I have not really been playing poker at all, so I went to withdraw the cash, low and behold good old Pokerstars won't let me withdraw it as according to them, "they are not a money transfer service". I don't really need the cash as I had not expected it, but at the same time, it's a shame to just blast it off at the tables.

Now I am stuck with just over $400 USD on there. I have been wondering if it worth trying to hatch some scheme to try to get the $$ back? It seems like it could be quite a bit of hassle. It's either that or I guess it is time to hit the tables again??

Hello mrquincy,

After a routine review of your latest cashout it has come to our attention that most of the funds that you cashed out came directly from a transfer received from another player on our site.

Our transfer tool is only meant to help players fund their accounts when they are unable to deposit with deposit options currently available to them. All funds added to your account via transfer must be used to play at our tables.

We are restricted by our license agreement in the Isle of Man and this prevents us from being able to offer a real money transfer service for the purpose of cashing out.

You should use a money transferring service outside of PokerStars for transfers which are not meant to be played at our tables.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at any time.

Can you transfer it back to him and have him cash it out if he is playing regularly? What do they want you to do? It's odd they didn't tell you how much you have to play or roll over before you can get it? Surely they can't make you play it all until you lose it all. It would seem like someone would have an account who is actively using it and can cash it out for you?

I need further clarification as to the amount of action they require.

I guess if you have a (reasonably trusted) friend that is active there you could transfer the chips to them - or dump them on a hand - and they can continue playing on their merry way - and have them send you the money some other way like Paypal.
