I watched some 40's film noir movies the past couple of weeks.

Mostly Humphrey Bogart films.

The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, Casablanca, and Touch of Evil.

Also watched Burn After Reading, Kick Ass, True Grit (2010), Once Upon a Time in the West, and The Seventh Seal.

I'm a big fan of 40's film noir. I've already seen those movies multiple times. They are classics that never get old.

Was expecting more out of Burn After Reading. It was decent though. Kick Ass never made me laugh, but it was entertaining enough.

Once Upon a Time in the West is one of the best westerns ever made. Great movie. I prefer the John Wayne version of True Grit.

The Seventh Seal is a Swedish existentialist movie made by Ingmar Bergmann. Pretty good for its time and content. Pretty slow moving though. Subtitles too.

MF I rewatched Burn After Reading last week and loved it even more than the first time. Thought it was hilarious, clever, insert snazzy adjective here. I loved it.

Watched Hobo With A Shotgun recently. Grade A entertainment.

Evil Dead 2 first time in ages. Good shit. Groovy.

Ummm..other stuff. Who knows. I dunno.

lol @ Safe House.

I went for the first time in years a few months ago. I almost didn't make it through the previews. loud, obnoxious sounds. Quick, unnerving images, one after another. My body felt so tense before movie even started. I will remember to skip previews if I ever go back

yeah that was excellent.

Reno it is a movie about a guy cheating on his wife, a couple wackos who work at a gym and a drunk who gets fired from his job. And they spin it as some huge espionage, government conspiracy type deal. I love it. A movie about nothing that seems to be something huge.

I dunno. I'm not that cool. Maybe it sucked.

Yeah, it was definitely a good movie. I might have been too tired when I was watching it to enjoy it fully.

It was definitely a clever take on our "intelligence" agencies. It makes you wonder how much of it is true to life...

I don't remember it having much to do with intelligence. The whole thing was that the characters mistook a bunch of insignificant nonsense (the manuscript) for something highly classified or important. Of course the author of the manuscript too believed that his memoirs(?) were valuable, and that was part of the hilarity.

The actual high ranking member of the CIA (played by that fucked up guy from Oz) is one of the best characters.
