Coleman set for Wales talks

Former Fulham and Coventry boss in the frame after leaving Larissa

The Football Association of Wales is to meet with Chris Coleman to discuss the vacant manager's position.

Coleman, 41, has already expressed his desire to be Gary Speed's successor and has said he is willing to work with the current staff.

Coleman was in the running to replace John Toshack as Wales boss 16 months ago but lost out to his close friend Speed, who died in November.

"I'll meet with the FAW this week to discuss the situation," he said.

"It is a very sensitive situation so if I am offered the job and I accept it I'll have mixed emotions."

Coleman won 32 caps for Wales as a centre-back before embarking on a managerial career.

He has had spells in charge at Fulham, Real Sociedad and Coventry City but is currently out of work after walking out on Greek club Larissa earlier this month.

Ryan Giggs, Ian Rush and John Hartson have also been linked with the post, as has Raymond Verheijen - who worked under Speed as his no.2. - http://www1.skysports.com/
