There is no way this guy ends the season in Seattle right?

I don't think so. Seattle has zero chance of the wild card which surely comes out of the AL East and they are currently 13 games back in the division. Yes there a lot of games to go in the season but when the only team you are outscoring in the AL is Baltimore (and barely at that) the turnaround isn't going to happen this season.

Lee is a lock for a Type A free agent at the end of the season so if the new team doesn't re-sign him then that's two draft picks in 2011 which is considered to be a very strong quality draft. The way he's pitching this season (you could put an argument that he's the best in baseball - he leads the AL in Wins Above Replacement despite missing the first month of the season) combined with the relatively high level of draft compensation means that the Mariners should get a very good deal in the trade.
