I have never been one who was ashamed of not understanding something and asking seemingly dumb questions if I wanted to learn. Oh sure, like anyone if I think I know something and it turns out I am wrong then I get embarrassed but if I simply dont understand it then I will keep asking until I get it.

Well after the past several days and looking over what I am asking and what you guys are saying and realizing that I just dont get it I am feeling embarrassed.

Some of you get frustrated because you say something and I dont get it. I get frustrated because you say something and I go and research it in order to decipher what you just said and put it into terms which I can understand only to find out that I still didnt get it.

You get frustrated cause you want to help but I make you feel like I want you to take my hand and walk me through things step by step. I get frustrated because I NEED you to take me by the hand and walk me through it step by step.

You guys get frustrated because you either tell me something or reference something to the Think Tank or other source and I cant take it from there and grasp it. I get frustrated because I cant grasp it. Whats worse I dont even comprehend what I am reading.

I said all of that just to say this; I want to learn this stuff. I do not want to become a professional gambler. I dont have a bankroll to spread it across numerous books or place wagers on 20, 30 or more games at a time. I dont have the attention to detail to notice a 2% edge on a game. I dont have what it takes to do what you guys do. I just want to understand it. I would like to be able to learn enough to recognize something that gives me an advantage. I would like to be able to familiarize myself to the point where I can read threads in the Think Tank or post between MonkeyFocker and Durito and not be sitting here scratching my head.

I like and respect you guys and I do apologize to each of you for seemingly being dumb as a box of rocks. Just know that as frustrating as it is for you it is substantially more frustrating and embarrassing on my end.
 
Some of the guys here can correct me if I am wrong but I think that what you are trying to do is not really going to help you very much in the long run. The process of "recognizing something that would give you an advantage" is a long process. It only gives you an advantage because it does so over a long period of time and it is a grind. Doing it "here and there" on bets that you have a think are going to win or are capping, for the most part isn't going to do much for you.

It goes back to what Matty was saying recently. People are trying to help you understand how exactly to do this but you keep going back to your original way of betting. I hope you read this and realize that I mean no disrespect. I honestly am an idiot for the most part when it comes to this stuff too but, I don't try to understand it, starting to think that you should maybe do the same. I know you are curious but you are just making it more tough on yourself.
 
Mr.Monkey, when you post a wager you are on and someone like Durito (not bitching Durito) points out that you have made a -EV wager in an insufficient market because it's a terrible line, I want to know what the hell he's talking about.


Mr.Monkey I have no plans to take what I am trying to learn anywhere. I am just trying to better myself a little. I don't mind being ignorant, ignorance is simply lack of knowing but I refuse to be a stupid man, stupid is the lack of trying.
 
Wally, on a side note. Always told us in the past that over there was your #1 home. You have made such a splash here at GL, is that still the case?

As one of our unofficial leaders (Bread) has stated he is a "community person" and I agree whole heartedly. The more loyal to Gamelive, the more monkey is backing you up! Plus I'm a very low member on the security team here. Don't like putting you on the spot..........ok, I like putting you on the spot! :grin: :popcorn:
 
I think the amount of time I spend here it's pretty evident that I am more than vacationing. GameLive is basically where my interest lies right now. I still have to go across the street cause it is mind numbingly slow here at times but yeah Monkey, I think I am ready to change my place of residency.
 
wally being a pro is no fun. well winning is always fun and so is making money but....

monkey i assume you are a pro, ive looked into this sort of thing years ago and it didnt look like near as much fun as i thought it would be

KC just doesnt have the offense to lay more than a touchdown, the bills took the ravens to OT which shows they are playing hard and with Fitzpatrick starting have enough passing to possibly steal a backdoor cover plus trends would show teams playing their 2nd road game in a row have a high cover ratio??

Line went up on pinny from KC -7.5 to KC -9 but on 5dimes I can still get KC-7 im going with KC. (see id hammer bills +9 on pinny pros would prolly go after 5d kc-7)

seems to me that a lot of bets are put in with little to no insight on the sport which to me isnt fun so im in the pavy pick winners camp.

take tonights game for instance, i dont give a fuck what line you give me on tim linecum cliff lee is going to dominate, ill take the rangers.

Just believe pros shouldn't being giving us every little thing about what they do. Those guys have I imagine in addition to being on the same page their own unique way of doing things.

Now if they like to post a play here or there on occasion (which they do) then great!

PS agree with the Rangers tonight. Giants took lots of pitches on the Phils staff which helped. Lee throws strikes and don't believe they will hit him!
