I have had a great week of wagering on sports. In fact its been a pretty good month plus but as elated as I am over this though I am even more disgruntled about the poker situation.
My last 6 trips to play cards has cost me $2500. I am averaging losing $500 per trip and its starting to piss me off. I said I was gonna quit but it has become a pride thing now.
If I was your average donkey player I might not care so much but I seriously am a good player. I also understand cards run in streaks and sometimes those droughts can be long and arduous. I also realize that since I am not playing every day that it may seem as though the losing streak is longer than it actually is but that too is of little help.
I am considered a tight aggressive player but not so tight that I dont from time to time spec if the situation calls for it so its not like I am sitting there waiting for specific starting hands all night long.
Also I wont lie and say that I know the math to the point of figuring out exactly what my odds are each and everytime but I can tell you with utmost confidence I know if I am ahead or not and when all my money goes in I have the lead.
None of this matters though cause I am losing every trip out. Ive even tried to mix it up a little by alternating between $1-$2 and$2-$5 because you do have a slightly different crowd at each. I even switched up last night and went to a house game just to break the streak of the poker room but that didnt help either.
We arent talking about just getting Aces cracked or Kings ran over, while that has happened plenty those situations dont hurt nearly as much as flopping the nuts and having the turn and or river change my fate.
Also I am not missing very many opportunities either. Even though it can be an enormous amount of time between playing hands I still track the cards. I pay close attention to the flow of the cards and Im not folding hands that would have won had I only refused to fold.
I am simply in a serious drought and its truly pissing me off. This is the longest I have gone in live poker without cashing and definitely the most cash Ive lost in live poker without getting some back. Sure, it only takes one good run to get it all back in just one sitting but thats not the point. The point is Im
'n tired of losing at poker.
