Thoughts on taking a side and a total in the same game (bases more specifically)

I saw that pally was on PITT and the UNDER in the same game and it made me wonder if you guys (gals) have any thoughts on being on the side and a total in the same game.

I tend to shy away from this practice although I don't have any evidence that would suggest that it's not optimal.

I sometimes play the +1.5 and the under.

If a wager has value, you bet it. I often have a side, total, and RL in one MLB game.

no, but if you like the Padres for instance, it is probably going to be an under game. They win on strong pitching.

Daft - I do bet the dogs in Cubs games a lot. Cubs strong sp will keep them games, but their lineup cannot justify a -200 play at home.

You can add Arizona/over on home games to worthwhile correlated plays

I have ML's and totals in the same game frequently.

I tend to find more value in NFL/NCAAF for sides and totals, but that could be that I know far more about it, bet heavier and have better success. I rarely bet totals in baseball compared to either the ML or RL.

I play more totals than sides in bases actually. I bet with the weather a lot, especially on Wrigley Field games. The weather is as important as the players there.
