A writer of the Kansas City Star killed himself on his 60th birthday. He made a website live explaining himself.

He didn't want to die alone.

I read this with great interest over last couple of days. I understand where the guy was coming from, but 60 seems pretty young, although he does devote a section of the site to "why60?" It was thoroughly thought and planned out. He prepaid Yahoo for 5years of hosting the site, but they took it down after a couple days indicating it violated terms of their user agreement. Obviously you can still see on some mirror sites.

Dying alone is underrated. As a matter of fact, I'm looking forward to dying alone.

I've got it all planned out. Retire at... 58, 60 on a fat government pension and buy a cottage on the lake in Northern Somehwere and wait for the warm, comforting blanket of death to drape over my soul.

It's gonna be so rad.

CSguy, you would be a forum LEGEND if you did the same thing as him.

We will even retire your handle and nominate you for HOF*.

Think about it.

:megaman:

Still mad about the "multiple people have told me Blitty's a douche-bag" comment, eh?

Relax, it's the fucking internet for Christs sake:megaman:

get some thicker skin, pal. After all you are one of the 'Kings of Costa Rica'....only a douche-bag would say something like that.

yep, I've been thinking thats not a bad idea. It would be much better if it was more acceptable and not such a devastating thing to family.
Like if it was common for people to off themselves at a certain age.
Kind of like cremation became common. The person can have a party and not be sad about it, and he's family wouldn't have to be sad because they know he wasnt.

Forget the dying crap! You go when you go! Not a fan of suicide! Hey, but if more tax paying Americans want to go in this direction, I going to try to look at the glass as half-full, Social Security could be saved! :dunno:
