I particularly like the vertical jump because I like how it relates to the constant vertical jumping in football.

and to clarify on the jumping, it is important to know a guy that you expect to score TD's is going to be able to on occasion jump up and slam dunk the ball over the goal posts

something like this can really deflate a time and suck the "momentum" away

Yap. First time I saw the scale on the ground I was like "why do they even mark 12 feet, that's just nuts", then the guy nearly made it there.

I feel like I read some crazy number near 14 feet for Wilt Chamberlain

guy was super tall, long, and had a 40+ inch vert

then again I bet I read it in the book where he claimed to bang 10k

for NFL combine? or for standing no run up vert? who did it?

I remember seeing/reading of many guys in hoops touching higher than that. but i'm sure many of those were not "documented"

14 was way wrong, as I just saw that the top of the NBA backboard is at 13, and there are legends of guys touching or grabbing quarters off of their

you were talking about the broad jump/standing long jump

scale "on the ground" should have tipped me off. I was thinking of the thingy ma do's that they use to measure the vert in combine when I read that.

Two of the biggest losers this weekend were Te'o and good ol' Honey Bader from LSU. Suspended for the year, guess he didn't work on conditioning. Bench-pressed 4x at 225.

I saw that Mantii Te'o run slower than some of the DL and OL in the 40 yard dash. That makes sense on how fast the Bama RB's were running by him in the BCS game. And it shows that the people who vote for awards in college football have no idea how to evaluate talent for NFL.
