No seriously man, as much as I have been barbecuing for my whole life, I have not tackled sausages often at all. But at the grocery store yesterday some hot Italian sausages jumped into my basket when I wasn't looking. So I am building tonight's dinner around them.

Any grilling tips? Just throw em on there and roll em around for 20 minutes or so?

Any sausage wisdom here?

I do mine on low/medium indirect heat. Depends on the casing. I get mine from the meat market and the casing is super fragile. If you're doing Johnsonvilles or something it probably won't matter as much. I do the same thing for brats as well. Just don't overcook them. You don't want them to be dry.

Put them on the grill with medium heat and cook them until the juices stop dripping. Then take some onions and sweet peppers and saute them for a little bit. Add tomato sauce and simmer the sausages in the sauce mixture for a few hours. Then take a hoagie bun and place the sausage with sauce in it and enjoy.

I prefer them either simply grilled or beer boiled and grilled.

That sounds about my speed. Just grill em and eat em with whatever side dishes I am in the mood for.

My main concern is overcooking them. I will follow the tips here to hopefully avoid that.

What do you mean by cook them in olive oil Daft? You just mean pour some oil on them and then grill them or is it something more complicated?

I am a simple man of simple tastes and simple methods.

I just lobbed them straight on the barbecue, low-medium for 14 minutes, rolling them over 3 times.

Serve with raw onion, tomato and a bit of salad. Mustard on the side. Apple crumble cheesecake for dessert.

Makes me a happy man.
