Good call on Bonnaroo, FF.

I want to road trip it either there or hangout in Alabama.

I kind of want to see GNR at governors for the comedic value. Lose your illusions was my first tape.

Who would you want on the lineup, FW?

Matty equals no fun. 'Lets never leave our apts gueys'.

Looking at the lineups, they have a 2-3 past-their-prime bands and about 40 bands that no one heard of nationally. Just a pile of crap for the money they want to charge.

That is exactly my beef. 99% of these are crappy posturing non-musicians who spend more time working on their brand than on their craft.

Giant wankfest.

I'm an old fart.

Yeah, I don't know anything about electronic stuff. I'm talking about these mainstream rock/pop/folk festivals like Osheaga.

Fok people and their idea of fun.

Kanye West, Guns n' Roses and Dinosaur Jr? Alright, I would consider going to that Governors Ball thing. I'm no GNR fan but I've never seen Slash live and I think that might be worth it. But only if Brock Landers makes the trip.

I think the ones that work best are the themed fests (Farm Aid, Rocklahoma, the electronica shows). Pitchfork sucks, so do these others. Why would you want Public Enemy and Tom Petty at the same show?

Eminem played with Widespread Panic and a bunch of jam bands at last years Bonnaroo.

Whats wrong with a little variety. There are multiple stages so you can pick and choose.

Why should I pick and choose? What if the two bands you want to see are playing at the same time, at opposite ends? I think a lineup of 3-5 bands that can play a decent length set is perfect.

About GNR - pretty sure Slash isn't with the band, that nutjob Axl Rose is though.

FW the beauty lies in the details. You can argue with me that the headliners aren't the best, but I didnt buy my tickets to see the top names. They already come through large halls and I can see them play by themselves if I wanted to. I go for the small guys and to hear new up and coming bands for the future. If you want a big name goto a big club like all the other commercial sellouts. I'm getting tired of music festivals becoming big and commercial. I liked when they were smaller and full of hippies that don't bitch and demand shit.
