A growing part of my business is based on analyzing historical odds from games - and I am going to expand my efforts in that direction.

What I have focused on so far are full-game spreads, MLs and totals for the the major North American sports. The data has been relatively easy to come by and maintain.

I think the obvious next direction to go would be 1st halfs. Along with that, I am thinking I will start collecting data on the major props (like for MLB, it would be team totals, r/h/e, will there be a score in the 1st inning?, team to score first).

The more the merrier, really. I can apply my methodology to just about anything if I have sufficient data.

Does anyone have any comments or advice? I believe that there are sites that have archives of 1st half odds for various leagues. (Sports Options? Sports Insights?) Is that right and if so, are they any good? Do they or does anyone else have other stuff like props? Are there reliable people who collect and sell/trade data? Do any of you guys have anything nifty on spreadsheets that you would like to e-mail me and I can use without lifting a finger?

My tendency is always to apply the Brute Force Method and just start collecting stuff manually - which I began today with some of the MLB props. But I wonder if anyone has any elegant suggestions.
