Shari how did you start betting tennis?

I've been gambling since I' was a kid. Horses then cards and sports.

Met a bookie at the track when I was 14 or 15 who straightened me out about a few things and I've just gambled ever since.

I've always bet tennis but I started to get hardcore into it about 8 years ago. Too many big lines out there in tennis because people are hammering another player thanks to their 'name' or their ranking.Too much money sitting there for me to ignore, especially here in Australia where everything just moves sloooooow.

Now I have a few friends who are closely involved or related to bigger players on the Tour. They help me out with behind the scenes dirt and I help them out by placing large bets they'd have a lot of difficulty doing on their own. :)

shari i didnt know you were from australia? are you near cronulla beach? i have a friend who spent a week in texas with us from there.

I'm not from here but I've been living here for a few long years. Not for much longer hopefully!! :)

Cronulla is in Sydney, I'm in Melbourne but I have been there before. The beach itself is nice but some areas of Cronulla are a bit dodgy.

If you're ever bored Google Cronulla Riots. I think there's some video of it too. That was one of the first times I realized how rampant racism is here.

The zoo is awesome! We went there the week before Xmas again and one of the guys let Seth feed his Cheerios to a baby koala. :lmao:

Melb is a great city to visit. Even probably more so than Sydney. Definitely a very cool place, especially if you're into sports, great food and shopping but it's a bit messed up to live here. Glad I had the chance to do it though. So many people never even have the opportunity to travel here so I'm grateful for that.

what's your posted record at RBS if you don't mind me asking? I never knew you were so serious about tennis.

I don't have one for the stuff I post there. It was only supposed to be a one day thread last May because I was forgetting to PM and email everyone but then it kind of blew up a bit bigger.

I think I'm going to start keeping one as of the Aus Open though just because so many people who never bet tennis come in there and ask me about my record during the Slams. It won't be accurate since I don't post everything I play and I don't even post units but I guess it'll be better than nothing for them. :)

Oh don't worry Archie, I'm not doing it here. I'll be lucky if I even do it there. :lmao:

I've never once cared about someone's record IRL when someone has given me advice about a play. They either know their shit or they don't and it's pretty easy to tell the difference.

But it seems to be a big thing in the world of forums. Not sure why because if you're like me you're live betting half the time anyway but people seem to care about this stuff. It's all good.

the people that think it is a big deal, are the newcomers on forums that believe that there are magical gurus out there that hit 65% against the -110 juice.

and when you tail you on a pick that loses for 50% or 100% of their roll they curse you out, and look for the next magical guru to tail.

that is SBR subforums in a nutshell.

if they stick around long enough, they either trend towards the players talk kinda forum entity or the think tank sort of entity.

if you get a good mixture of those two entities that is divine.

God Bless Mudcat and Durito

I enjoy a record because it proves a step of integrity and validity. I can tell everyone I post winners as Archie says, but I'm not a square. If you have a proven posted record I respect and seek out your opinion that much more than say a "winner" poster.

either way BOL :thankyou:
