Bogota is pretty expensive, but you can find apartments if you plan in advance for probably $70. Hotel at least $125 (if you want a nice one in a nice area, you can stay downtown for $20).

Medellin is cheaper and easier. In fact, I wouldnt even consider Bogota first.
