Finally got the chance to upload video on here. Little Havana on New Year's Eve. Wife said it was a tradition in her country. Did you ever see this?
RJ is jungle man going to nola?
Ah yes, that is la gigantona y el enano cabezon (the giant woman and the big headed dwarf). First time I saw that I was mesmerize. I was in this neighborhood, you know typical poor area and all of a sudden I hear the tatatatatata and I was like what's going. Around the corner comes these characters spinning dancing with like three drummers. All the kids from the houses and from around start coming out and all of sudden there's a big crowd. They did the show for a couple of minutes and continue on.
That's usually poor people that go from neighborhood to neighborhood in the streets and just take in whatever money people want to give them. Kids get excite by them, pretty fun, imo.
It was pretty interesting. We gave them $30 and some beer. My wife said the same thing you did. She heard the drums from inside and got excited. The guys playing the drums were making fun of people in the crowd. Apparently it was pretty funny but I have no idea what they were saying.
They were saying how they could get $30 and some beer from the gringo.
kick ass mcb, thanks for posting the vid
happy new year
