McBall's, I call BS. Only schlep's hit the ball back up the middle. You lnow the rules, hit it back up the middle and be prepared to fight. In competetive softball the pitcher is a corpse in waiting with the juiced up players and bats. Do you know what the reaction time is for a pitcher once the ball comes of the bat, try less than a 3rd of a second. It's brutal out there man.
These guys get drunk and the roid-rage sets in and they want to send a message to the other team and hit one back up the middle to "scare" the pitcher but what happens when they are just a hair off? I'll tell you what happens, total reconstructive surgery or possibly worse. Even my hardass cocanut get's split wide open when hit by a softball.
If it's a co-ed league and female pitcher the guy who hits back up the middle better get his ass beat by his own team, let alone the team whos pitcher he hit. Even in a rec-league where the really, really unathletic come to participate it still stressed that hitting back up the middle is a HUGE NO NO.

Wally, this isn't church league softball that I play. In a highly competitive league, if a player can not field middle he should not be playing. There are certain things that trigger a person hitting middle in a game. The guy was wearing a mask and I hit him in the leg. He will be ok. Wally, I am not on roids. Wally, if you were pitching against me I would not hit the middle on you.

LOL....I actually caught that in a previous thread F0kker and was quite shocked to see that. So are you finally catching on to the great game of Hockey? I was in Vegas in Oct and was shocked at the Sportsbook "tv's" at Mandalay Bay. Do you actually hang there?

Haha. I don't go to Mandalay all that often because it's hard to get in and out of quickly, but the MGM properties are decent for NHL action. Most of their books will have it on.

Tim Thomas is definitely a hot goalie right now who has rebounded nicely from last season that's for sure. He's not your typical North American goalie as he is basically all over the place. Very "unorthodox" style. Pittsburgh is pretty hot right now. Keep an eye on them.
