Nat light and Bud light taste like dog piss so it wouldn't matter if it's 1 week old or 1 year old. On second thought additional fermentation may break down more sugars and make it taste better after a year in the fridge.

The alcohol will never go bad, but the flavor certainly will. I know this because when I was still in high school we were partying at the "Wet Spot" (natural esturary off the Noyo) and a case of Budweiser ended up falling in and sinking. At some point after college, I was back here visiting my brother and we decided that we should go recover the beer and examine how well it had kept. Amazingly, although the box had long since stopped resembling cardboard, the beers were all still grouped together at the bottom. They still tasted vaguely of beer and they got us drunk, but that unique smell of sour grain had implanted itself in them and just remembering it has the hair on the back of my neck standing up.

So yeah, you can still drink them, but first gauge your level of desperation for the buzz if they've been around more than a year.

Really, has anyone really had the problem of having beer in the fridge for too long. I have a entire frig dedicated to beer in the basement, and I still don't have that problem. Of course I keep fresh beer rotating and I guess there could be a straggler who has been in there for years, but I have never seen anyone knowingly have really old beer inte fridge that they are afraid to drink. Maybe a questionable beer from being heated and cooled too many times, but these go as well after your 12 -15 th of the night.

Maybe VegasDave is planning to shipwreck on a remote island with 10,000 cans of beer and wants to know what to do with them.

Thats easy, you start pounding them down one by one being careful not to crush the cans, and of course save them. Then McGiver them together in a bundle when you sover up in about a week. and set sail with a giant palm leaf beercan sailboat. Ahoy, its the S.S. Drunkenbastard.

don't you check the 'born on' date? after 110 days after the 'born on' date, the beer goes 'skunky', and it's down hill from there. but the only real way that you can tell is if you drink a skunky beer then immediately drink a fresher beer, or vice versa.
