Chris Samuels retired today as well. With the uncapped 2010 NFL season assured, the Redskins were able to clean up some bad contracts with aging players. They didn't hesitate to clean house.

For those of you that hated Dan Snyder already, get ready to REALLY hate him over the next couple days. He's getting set to buy everybody come midnight tonight.

I just heard some media types talking about possible collusion between owners to keep things under control with free agents and that was the first thing I thought: Snyder would wreck any plan like that.

I expect he will spend money like a drunken sailor (and go 7-9).

Yes, he will.

There was already some speculation that the Skins would be very active in the free agency market (of course), but today's moves give indication that they might be more active than anyone even thought possible.

Yep. Peppers to the Bears looks pretty solid. I don't think the Skins are going after ANY big names. None of the people I listed as being high likely targets seem to be targeted at all.

The only Redskins visit scheduled is with former GB OT Chad Clifton. He would be a suitable stop gap for the Skins at LT with Samuels retiring.

I must say Snyder apparently has really turned over the reins to his football people. Maybe things are changing after all. I like this approach as a Skins fan.
