Happy Father's Day all.

On this day let me ask you a question - do you like kids?

I cannot stand them. They are funny in small doses but in no way do I desire to have them. I do not like high maintenance people and they are the very epitome of this.

I do like to get other people's kids all wound up (I often play the part of "fun silly guy" with them) and then leave the scene as this is amusing to me.

But I can't imagine having them around all the time, they are annoying.

:crybaby:

I love my daughter and she loves my money...... I thought it would get better as they get older but it just keeps getting worse. Still I wouldn't trade her in. It's something you don't understand till you have them as I had no desire to have a kid but somehow that happened. Actually I do know how and where it happened LOL.

I have never wanted kids. I have had two different partners offer to have kids with me but I was never even slightly tempted.

I am 46 years old. In all those years, I can't even remember having fleeting thoughts of maybe kids could be a good idea.

I don't see it ever happening.

I think my main issue is myself. I had such a tempestuous experience with addictions and attitude starting when I was about 13 and I would be afraid my child would be a repeat version of myself and I wouldn't want to deal with that. That would suck HUGE.

I don't dislike kids. My girfriend has two boys who seem like great kids. They live with their dad so I only get small doses.

My daughter and I had an awesome breakfast (at 1 pm....) and we played a pool tourney together... she made a quicker exit than me. had a good day..... not that I think many dads would do that with a 17 yo daughter.... the bar obviously wouldn't let her drink but we had fun.

So many threads today that if replied to reveal much about the responders.

I'm 44 now so kids won't be happening. When I was younger I wanted kids so badly. I wanted to raise a child and I wanted to prove that I wasn't my father. that I could love and be there and help in the development of the child. Never married though and never fathered a child. I spent 20 years coching youth though and I was both coach and friend with my players. I looked in on them from time to time to see how life was, I would take players to the mall, movies or parades. I loved my kids and even though I never had any of my own I was a part of hundreds of childrens lives through the years. I am proud of this. I am even more proud when I see a player I once coached in town and they are with their kid and they tell them this is coach Wal.

I don't coach anymore and I kid around when asked and tell people I spent 20 years coaching and finally realized "I hate kids". Obviously it's a joke cause children are amazing and I am still sad that there will never be a lil Wal running around.

Everything is 10 years back these days man, having kids at 44 now is like having them at 34 15 years ago. I don't agree with it being too late if that is what you want.
