1. Icon opens the dialog for uploading or pasting a picture

2. If you want to upload a picture to the GL server

3. If you want to paste a picture address you found on the internet that ends in .jpg .png .gif or .webp



Posting videos

4. If you want to upload a video to the GL server

5. If you want to paste a video address you found on the internet that ends in .mp4 .mov or .webm

6. add the video address in the middle of [MP4] and [/MP4]



When to use the attachment feature instead?

When you want to add multiple images or videos at the same time in a carousel format at the bottom of the post. Using the icons automatically inserts the image or videos into the post, using attachments does not.

Images have file size limit 10 MB

Videos have file size limit 100 MB (Soon 1 GB)

Would there be a way to have photos automatically resized/recompressed? I'm lazy, and resizing pics on a phone is a pain

Resize the photo itself or the dimensions on the post?

Resize so we can upload photos of any size, but they don't take up so much space on the server. (Most photos taken with a phone and/or an actual camera are now larger than 10mb.)

I see what you mean, I'll investigate how to do it. Although storage is not a big problem, I can source it at 0.01 cents per GB.

the Apple ProRes HQ for 1920x1080 at 29.97 spec has a 220 Mbps bitrate, to stream that your device would need to receive 28 MB per second, or for 4K that would be 112 MB per second, absolute insanity

this has nothing to do with us just admiring the crazy numbers they handle
