Pit just seeps, getting wetter

Got this like drainage pit behind my house, maybe for old sump pump?

Even though snow is not currently melting, there is more and more water in there every time I check

What you got there is an infrastructure issue.

With infrastructure problems, there are no on-the-fly fixes. I mean there are, but the politics won't allow it to happen.

You just got to wait for a major disaster and a bunch of people to die.

I am going to assume it is an outside grease trap which were put in many years ago. It would be dedicated from your kitchen sink drain. Follow your drain line from your kitchen sink and see if it connected to your city sewer or goes outside... Any sort of pump wouldn't make sense as water would freeze in any sort of discharge pipe. What material is the pit made of?
