I use Microsoft Security Essentials; It's free and seems to work ok. I don't visit a lot of dodgy websites so I find it is good enough for my needs; I used to use Avg free but I got tired of installing it every year.

no offense, but I haven't used a AV in years. I'd ask what you are doing on your machine that is making it so easy for viruses to come in?

Either way webroot, avg, or norton at the idustry leaders. I'd avoid norton as they over market and under present.

I am not doing anything. But I am moving lots of money around, I'd like my computer to be secure.

If you are looking for a computer security solution adding anti-virus won't do much but keep the 13 year old script kiddie out.

I'd suggest the locking of your user accounts and even more hassle compression and then securing those files with encryption if you are serious.

I'm afraid I don't understand your question.

Do you currently have your account/passwords stored in a text file on your computer ?

If you are able to, you memorize them and keep them in your head.

He can also write them down on a piece of paper but have them encrypted. For example I chose my passwords by writing them down in Greek encrypted with each Greek letter being equivalent to an English letter so if someone finds that paper he will have a hard time knowing what the hell is written in Greek.
