Not gonna lie, pretty sure Raos canned marinara cannot be meaningfully improved upon for the effort.
I made some of grandma plommers sugo recipe from Italy. Came out extremely well but took hours, was messy and limited quantity.

The sugo was delicious and better than store bought for sure but I can understand why the suff sold in a jar/can at the grocery store is so popular.

I find that as long as I avoid Parmesan and always use Pecorino Romano it tastes pretty good.

Here is the recipe:

Sugo..... (Dont EVER call it fucking gravy!!! fukkin dumbericans)

Oil
3 or 4 Garlic cloves, crushed or sliced
1 can crushed tomatoes 796 ml (large can cause I always like to make extra sugo)
1 can tomato paste 398 ml
meat with bone in, sausage, and/or meatballs
Salt, basil and parsley

Pour enough oil into your pan to cover the bottom, add garlic and saute until garlic is just browned.
Remove from pot, and add the meats and stir so it won't stick.
Once meat is browned, add garlic back in, a small onion if you like, add crushed tomatoes, stir, about 2 minutes, then add paste and stir.
Add 3 paste cans of water, stir.
Add some salt, basil and parsley. Stir all well, bring to a slow boil, then turn down the heat so the sauce is just bubbling slowly.
Keep an eye on it every 20 minutes or so, stir so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot.
Boil very slowly on low heat for 2 hours.
Let sit for about 1/2 hour, remove the meats and enjoy.

This is a must have for authentic ITALIAN pasta.

I prefer white sauce when I get pizza.

Ragu is very underrated in my opinion.

Pizza chains are beyond awful !!!

Especially, Domino’s !!! Beyond disgusting!

Support your local small businesses !!!

Oh yeah, FUKK BIDEN !!! 🇺🇸
