We have a "What Are You Listening To" thread and we have had various threads related to music in the past. There are plenty of opinions on this forum as well as a variety of taste. While some (mine in particular) tend to irritate those with a finer ear than mine even I have some moments of fine tuned hearing.

How about we list some of the ALL TIME GREATEST intros or solos, maybe just really great rift (is that the right word) at a particularly perfect moment.

It would help to maybe include a video for ease of sampling.

I'll kick it off. This would be classified in the "intro" category and will be recognized anywhere. In some cases the original might be better but after hearing several samples I liked this one best.

Deep Purple-Smoke On The Water

There are any number of classic intros I could name which have stood the test of time, but this is a newer favorite of mine which is guaranteed to get the extreme head bobbing and rock'n'roll faces and air guitar going:

This one falls under solo.

Eddie Van Halen-Eruption

Obviously as we get into solos the list will get VERY long. Already I have opened with Eddie but Carlos, Stevie Ray, Nuggent, Hendrix will be sure to get listed.

Speaking of Hendrix and an intro,

Jimmy Hendrix-Voodoo Child

I don't list it due to it being all that difficult ( I can't play any instruments so I don't know what's difficult or not) but certainly recognizable upon hearing.
