Sorry, no writeups as I'm just too lazy to type for all the matchups.

My picks:

Colorado vs San Jose - Colorado

Montreal vs Washington - Washington

Philadelphia vs New Jersey - New Jersey

Ottawa vs Pittsburgh - Ottawa

Detroit vs Phoenix - Detroit (best bet)

Boston vs Buffalo - Boston

Los Angeles vs Vancouver - Los Angeles

Nashville vs Chicago - Chicago

As a Blackhawk fan, i would love to see SJ get booted 1st round.
As more than a casual observer of the Sharks I can say that they are severley lacking in HEART, they have none, they have a group of skilled selfish forwards that never deliver when it matters most.

I'm fading the Sharks and the Pens.

Montreal over Washington :lock:
Who am I to argue with a pro?

Montreal doesn't have anything going for them from what I can see. Not getting blown out will be success for the Habs.

Ottawa over Pitt ???

Notorious flakes over the defending champs?

Gutsy call. I like it. You should be able to get a pretty good price on that. Currently +250 at Bookmaker but you'll be able to do better than that by the time the puck drops.

Montreal over Washington :lock:

You're a nut and I love you.

As a very casual observer I have to wonder what is going on with that det/PHO series. Phoenix has 6 more wins and home ice but Detroit are -200 favorites.

???

Is that all based on reputation or are there injury situations or what?

Nice position. I can think of a few different ways to play that.

I assume you are not going to ride that to the bitter end. If you care to comment: do you go ahead and start hedging now or gamble and watch a few games?

I think I will only hedge if they reach the finals, or when they become decent favorites in a series, or when a series goes to a game 7. Half of that is not my money (though I stand to take out a decent commission if Phoenix wins it all.)

Still a bit miffed about Atlanta missing the playoffs, that was my main futures investment - 2k down the drain. Ack.
