That may be but, I had a friend who went in 2006, and all he got was that State Department letter.

On the other side, my dad's friend got caught taking his boat to Cuba by the US coast Guard, and they pulled his passport fort 10 yeasr, but that was back in 1993 or so.

I like the idea. I've met a number of Americans through couchsurfing who've visited Cuba and loved it.

If I understand correctly, it's not even illegal to go there, only to engage in any commerce. In any case, the Xes are in.

It costs 2-3x as much to fly to Cuba from here as it does to Miami even though the Miami plane passes directly over Cuba. Perhaps I could sky dive.
