This is a cover of a Tim McGraw song. Probably not the most appropriate thing for gamelive but whatever. It is a beautiful poignant song which is probably my best piano song to play live but I'm not thrilled with how it came out on video. Oh well. I learned how to insert annotations anyway.

Muddy, you are truly awesome. What great talent you have. Bread quite often listens to your two originals. You must have really struck a chord somewhere in that jaded brain of his.

I don't care for much country, but I do like the songs which tell a story. I'm usually a sucker for those which bring us from the beginning to the end of the subjects life. I looked up the lyrics to Can't Really Be Gone and I started getting that sad feeling...until I realized she left him. She didn't die. It would have been a much better story if she had died. But even so, the song is about regret and seeing the ghostly reminders of her presence.

Muddy, do you take requests?

Thanks a lot.

Sure I'll take requests. No promises on the results but I'll consider/attempt anything.

Robyn you say you looked up the lyrics but I put the lyrics right in the video with annotations. Are they not coming up? I can see them here.

As for the story being told in this song, it seems clear to me from the lyrics it is about a guy whose girl left him. However I saw a Tim McGraw video of this song where they are suggesting she is dead. There is a message at the end about giving to some charity (breast cancer ??) so I think maybe they purposely tried to make it ambiguous in order to deliver an important message - but the song itself (written by Gary Burr) is not saying that IMO.

Good stuff Muddy.

I'd like to make a request. Something by The Smiths.

Hmmm. I may be able to come up with an interpretation of something. This is good too because it would probably be guitar.

After hearing this most recent vid, I won't be doing another piano vid until I get my piano tuned. Sometimes it takes a couple weeks for my guy to come around.

Sorry fiver, I asked first.

I took a vote over at fb and we all agree that we would love to hear you do your own interpretation of Enter the Ninja. You would bring absolute joy to quite a few of us here at gaymelive.com

It's meant to be. I clicked on the youtube link so that I could post it here for you and a commercial with Flo started up right before the song. I know it isn't your style and you don't care for them, but pleaseeeeeeee pretty please?

I was in the middle of making the LMS spreadsheet so I only listened to your song. I just looked and I do see the lyrics there.

I just read through the lyrics again. While it seems clear reading it through the first time, she left him. But then again, who leaves and doesn't take a thing with them? Maybe he is so grief stricken that he isn't quite at the acceptance stage just yet. It's these three lines that are very confusing:

I don't know when she'll come back
She must intend to come back
I've seen the error of my ways

Muddy, you'll be our personal hero for life.
