What does it all mean? Well as you all know, I can't watch this show unless I'm held down Clockwork Orange style with sexy nurses pinning my eyelids back and squirting water on my eyeballs. But that doesn't stop me fro betting on this crap so from the longevity pareto I can see that you all have been doing a pretty good job so far picking a contestant to hang around. You guys are also pretty good at selecting the dudes who will be sent packing. As for selecting the ladies to hit the road however, you guys as a group pretty much suck at it. This tells me that there is probably a wide range of female talent that need to be worked out. I would postulate that the upper teir of bitches are probably safer than the upper teir of dudes, just because it looks like a couple of the girls really suck. The top 2 girls selected to leave have been choosen over 66% of the time.

What I did notice and I took another hedge bet with is Michael Lynche has never been selected to go home or to stay. At +700, I tossed a few bucks on him, I think he could be a dark horse who gets heated up in the next couple of weeks, and finds a way to tough it out and be there at the end. I think this because the Lacy and Paige suprise run is about to end I think, and that will give old Michael more time to become comfortable or what ever it is they do on this show. I still have sizable investments in Cyrstal, Casey,and the Magnus chick, with all kinds of hedges with some of the ones in the longevity pareto who have a blue column and haven't been eliminated.

Your Lynch reasoning makes sound sense. Let me tell you why I think he will not win. He is just such a likable person that the judges are just all over him every week. This week a judge cried over his performance. While his performance was good, the judges reactions were just so over the top. I have a feeling at some point, the constant praise over him will annoy some of the voters and he will get voted out. I predict between a 3rd and 5th place for Lynch

This scenario happened last year to an extent with Danny Gokey. Everyone loved him at the beginning and his story made people root for him. But after awhile, people started getting tired of American Idol throwing his sad story in their face week after week. He was a big early favorite but he did not win, instead finishing third.
 
Did you know that Gokey's wife died 3 weeks before auditions? I can't believe that Idol never mentioned that.

Just like I didn't know that Big Mike's wife had a baby while he was in Hollywood. Just can't believe that you never hear a word about it......

Exactly Nina. That baby stuff is already played out if you ask me. Give it another 6 weeks and there will be a lot of voters sick of it.

Nina you are wrong on both accounts. I don't watch this show much but I remember them talking about Gokey's wife dying last year...to the point that during the audition he was wearing his wedding ring and then at some point during the competition I noticed that he stopped wearing the ring. I am 500% sure that it was mentioned.

Same goes for Big Mike. Almost an entire Hollywood week episode was dedicated to the fact that his wife was in labor while he was at Hollywood. He even came out on stage at one point and said..."my wife just had a baby, my first" the judges made a comment or two about how he better make it good for his new baby.

I was thinking the same thing Robyn. Yes she will do well for a while but she doesn't have the star power that makes people pick up the phone and vote for her. She is very much the "odd one" kinda like Lilly was. If Lilly got eliminated this week Crystal will eventually as well. America doesn't want one of those alternative indie people....even if they are super talented.
