One of my favorite things is the secondary gift card market. There is no excuse to NOT using secondary market gift cards for ALL planned purchases.

For example - buying a new pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses today - $159.99 retail + $15 tax + shipping.

Sunglass hut gift cards are selling for a whopping %20 off on the secondary market. Google a promo code for free expedited shipping, buy the glasses though a shopping portal (e.g. https://www.aadvantageeshopping.com/) and net effective price is $111.xx shipped next day. Love the saving more than the glasses...

Had some delivered zeroed out, but the reseller refunded the transaction. That's why you have to look at the protection policy and stay with a reputable reseller. Also, only buy for planned immediate purchases.

Lost one once. That's on me and could happen with any GC.

go to giftcardgranny.com to see aggregate listings. But look carefully, I filter out ebay (use only corporate resellers). Some higher end stuff does have good discount rates... essentially the more liquid the store (think target, walmart, etc) the less the discount.

Bought a canon SL1 camera paid $356 for the starter (body + lens) from Staples. Think i got a good deal.

Combined:
Discount Gift Card
Ebay rewards
Shopping portal rewards
Increased CC points
Staples rewards

Effective 29% discount.
