How do you determine you actually have an "advantage"?

Advantage = opinion in most (if not all) cases.

Seems like people have to convince themselves they have an advantage when they are really talking about theory.

I consider it an advantage when I have the ability to bet a line that is not available at the most reputable books at any point in time. More information is an advantage (i.e. the line shifting in one direction or the other)My advantage relies on the assumption that pinny is an efficient market.

MCB you're not going to make shit betting stale lines at $50 a game. You will see profits maybe over 5 years. maybe.

I'm not in this for the everyday grind.

I know about all major sports except MLB. But the only one I know I have an edge over the books is NBA. And I win every year in the playoffs. And I pick champions pre-season. In my prime 5 years ago when I had nothing to do but study in college and work 15 hours a week, I watched film all night in the playoffs. I would break down any game better than any analyst on espn. The last couple years I've even been lazy about it but have still cashed out. That's for NBA. 5 guys on the court. It's easier to anticipate schemes, mentalities, and matchups than it would be for a mlb game or nfl game where models are useful.

I will beat any model here in the NBA playoffs.

Few of you guys on here may be pros. I look forward to any challenge. Let's see what wins. Math vs. Analysis. It will be interesting.

now you just sound stupid...you want to follow a guy who writes an amazing paragraph full of great thoughts and goes 50% at best and is a lifelong loser or you want to model to find advantages to get the best numbers possible and couldnt give a shit who is playing and be large lifetime winner? oh nevermind, i like the gut feeling plays better too... ... the money you might make in the post season simply evens out the money you lose in the regular season...nba is your favorite sport...its far from an area of specialty:goodforyou: ...

i agree you can get more variables/ideas from seeing things others post...fwiw

ray pick your best gambler here

nba playoffs i will be back

we'll see who wins

let's test your theory

the money i'll lose in the reg season will never be like the money i make in the postseason. you know why? because i bet big in the post season. you math guys don't know when to bet big. that's gambling. finding spots.

The contest will be interesting

Thanks for the advice Goaty. I would have to say that your analysis is spot on if it wasn't so stupid. I wish Dafty were here right now. He would say ATTACK!

she might play a game here and there...she bets tennis and golf, mainly majors...and has gotten butchered doing it this year...she bets like pavy...almost all favs and the price dont matter...

Fuck you. I buried MF going 10-1-1 and I can bury you too. Let me know when you want to have a challenge in picking winners. You can bet stale lines if you want an advantage. I don't need to bet stale lines to win.

did i say anything about you winning or losing? until i do, dont tell me to go fuck myself...you got a problem with someone pointing out the fact that you play a certain way? i dont know why you would...i said she bet like you did...and, besides serena this year, betting favs in tennis got her completely buried...chip on the shoulder much

Can you point the bets I made betting chalk regardless of price or are you just pulling my chalk plays out of your ass? I beat the closer in all my football bets this week. Yes I have a thread where I post my plays something you will never have instead you prefer making asinine posts about my bets.
