They continue to make gay changes.

This one involves taking away use of the internet from our personal laptops/iPhone/etc

apparently they paid huge overage fees for internet usage.

when sitting on a truck for 12 hours its nice to be able to surf the internet/watch movies on quicksilverscreen/etc.

this is mainly what i do in my freetime so fml

Our work computers can access the internet but they do not have flash and run super slow.

No youtube etc.

Anyone know a website that causes tons of internet to be used, something like sbrodds that i could leave on on the work computer to fuck their usage.

i work on an ambulance, we run 9-1-1 calls. Most cities let their EMS ppl sit in a station when they dont run calls but ours makes us drive around the city and post random spots.

We work 12 hour shifts. some days we run calls nonstop other days we get breaks sometimes we will sit for 5 hours it really all depends on who calls 911.

With it being a 12 hour shift it can get kinda tiring and we are not allowed to sleep but since we work in sets of 2 we usually make agreements that one will listen to the radio and one will sleep and vice versa.

The other one used to watch movies or sports games or watch youtube or cap games. All of the things that other person used to do to stay awake are being taken away. Most other EMS jobs let you sleep but since we get fired for doing that we kinda need something to keep us awake.

Thanks for your understanding pavy

from the email.

We do allow limited usage outside of this guideline as long as this usage doesn’t interfere with the primary purpose. Ethical behavior should be used when using %^%^ computers and Internet connections. Illegal activity, abuse, attempting to get around ^&^&^&’s security measure are examples of inappropriate use. It is important to note that the connection of any personal computing devices to the gateway in the ambulances is no longer acceptable.

In June of this year, AT&T imposed charges for data use in excess of 5 GB for data cards. While we are still negotiating with AT&T for unlimited plans, we are currently paying overage charges for our data usage. In examining the overages, we are finding that end users’ personal computing equipment accounts for a significant portion of the data bandwidth used each month on each cellular card in the gateway. Once a gateway hits 5 GB, we have seen overages in excess of $1,000 be reached in a few hours of personal laptop use

i dont believe the city pays anything. they used to give a small subsidy which they primarily expected to lower the cost of each bill but with the city budget shortfalls its been left out as of late. all the money that my company receives is straight from the users of the system. with that in mind, i dont know what sort of deals the management has with at and t etc but nothing is passed onto the employees. while i cannot speak for everyone, i certainly do not get anything free

its like a private company the city gives them a contract for a length of time assuming the company meets certain standards and then they vote on renewing that contract on an annual basis or every few years idk for sure

How I understand it the trucks get 5 GB per month. I imagine that should be enough for all the data needs of the truck to service if they came up with that figure. But just think, an average movie takes around 1 GB to stream, a live game of 2 hrs takes about the same, a youtube clip of 2 minutes takes around 15-20 MB. It all quickly adds up. Surely yall are surpassing the 1 GB of usage a day, x30? That's thousands of dollars the company is losing probably into the tens of, I would block it as well.
