bumped into a buddy of mine tonight who volunteers for a local animal rescue shelter... i adopted my jack russel from them and he said he had another that got brought in with his best friend and she was adopted the next day, but his attitude seems to be keeping him from finding a home... so me and chick stopped by to check the little guy out tonight and it just broke me down so bad... little guy is so heart broken to lose his best friend. isnt eating too much and just looks miserable...

so tomorrow, im taking my mini pin and jack russell out to see him and see if its possible for them to get along.. i dont need another large rodent running around and i highly doubt that my pups are going to enjoy being around him, but i figure what the fuck...ill take them out and at least give it a try. he is a handsome boy...

i urge everyone to search the rescue shelters before going out and spending money on animals at pet stores and shit... they really do make the best pets

im more worried about getting there and chick getting it in her head that she wants to be a foster parent to a handful of dogs...i know they need more people to step up and volunteer... i can hear it now..."you have room at the house"... "you have the perfect back yard for them"... "you are such a dog lover"... it would be a great thing for her to do on the weekends since we dont get to see each other during the day much, but i might as well start working on my rejection speech now. i have enough people coming and going through my house and dont need strangers coming over to look at dogs... i would love to help out someway though...maybe just help feed and walk them one or two mornings a week.

playdate #1 with him didnt go over so well with my little ones... he snapped at the mini when he came around and was completely uninterested in my girl...didnt want to play with them at all... im going to go and get him today and bring him over to check out the house and back yard and stuff..see he likes the surroundings better

When we adopted the Husky it took a good 3 months for him to be completely comfortable in our home. He was acting out when we first got him and still learning the "rules" of the house. It was a long adjustment but he is now such a good dog and pet. It sounds like these are all things you are aware of and the fact that it will be a process. Good Luck and I hope everything works out.

Adopted pets make great additions to the family!

thing i like about him is that he has always been a house dog with at least 1 other dog... now if he follows the mini around, he will be a mess because the mini gets into fucking everything..garbage cans, plate left somewhere etc...that fucker will be on it. but i like the fact he is used to being indoors with other dogs... i think he is miserable now because his foster parent has a few other small dogs, but a handful of big ones and he doesnt like them... we will see. if he doesnt enjoy himself here for a day or so, ill move on... someone will get him before too long.

the kids seem to be getting along okay...he is looking at my girl like he wants to pound some ass, but she would eat him alive if he climbed up on her. she has an issue with him being here... he is following around the little mini menace too. guess he has figured out who knows how to find crumbs and shit that might have fallen. tonight will be interesting...cant decide if i want to crate him while i go out or just stay home with them...nigga gotta get out and drink one night this week...damn
