My fiancee's computeris making a really loud buzzing noise when you do anything on it

I'm thinking it's a fan problem or w.e but don't know the slightest about the insides of a laptop.
Suggestions? Is it a simple fix that can be done without a specialist in your opinion?
It's a Compaq Presario, way out of warrantee

I'd first try cleaning the vents with one of those compressed air can thingies that shoot a cool chemical snow when you hold them upside down.

Either cpu or hard drive fan. I would just have it fix professionally.

Removing the drive is easy to do and a better idea, at least you can get the data off of it using a usb hard drive enclosure.

Sometimes blowing out/cleaning the fan works. Usually it doesn't because the ball bearings are shot inside of it. If you can figure out how to pop the keyboard off and get inside, you can try cleaning it. Otherwise, you'd either have to order a new fan (most are proprietary for laptops) and replace it or simply live with the noise. If you don't feel comfortable opening it up, take it to a shop. And if you ignore it, make sure that it is still operating well enough to cool properly.
