So I have a giant tub of pictures....from high school, college and my early days in Denver..,.family... Also about 4 trips to Vegas in there I think.

I need some rules to expedite the chucking. I am so far thinking

No baby pictures of anyone...not even family.

Anyone that I can't remember their first name.

Any inanimate object or statute etc that I could just google.

Anything else? I might have 30 pictures of my college roommates in diff places....cafeteria/dorm/bar etc. I did a preliminary chuck a few months back but there are still way too many.

I need some GUIDELINES.

That's one thing I didn't chuck - pictures. Pictures are their own category of thing which for me is: keep. I still have 3 albums and a bunch more just in big envelopes.

Sounds like you have quite a bit more than me? A giant tub full? Egad. Mine just occupy like a foot of shelf space. I didn't go through pic by pic. I just kept 'em. But what I have is pretty focused. Family mainly. I was never a huge picture taker. The vast majority of my photos, someone else took.

I don't know what to suggest. Pictures are all about feelings for me. If there is no feeling, it can probably be chucked is all I can think.

Yeah. That's another good thing to look at ...if it invokes a feeling. I seem to have a lot of pics local bars and parties with people that I have long since forgot...mostly not great quality...people that were important on some level at one time of my life but not on the level of old college friends etc. If we don't keep in touch now, I don't know how important they will be to me in years to come.

I have many in albums Cami but tons of loose ones too. We'll see. I don't think I will try to finish today but I will definitely do a few albums anyway.

The ones you want to keep you could put into photo albums.

Maybe see if any other family and friends want the pictures.

I don't really do pictures myself. I should, I suppose, but I don't.
My family and I all have a lot of the same pictures...from holidays...ones they gave me of their kids etc....I think one of each kid at each stage of their life is probably enough.

Buy a scanner...you can scan and then chuck with no 2nd thought....

Also, I recently went through my photos and it is amazing how many of your old pictures will be out of focus and not even worth keeping in the first place.

Any photos that have no people in them ------> CHUCK THEM

Any photos that generate feelings of regret or a tinge of sadness-------> CHUCKITY CHUCKER NUT

Any photo with duck faces or anyone doing a sideways peace sign or faux gang sign. ----'> CHUCKY MC'CHUCKERSON

Agree with Tronft on this one.

I don't think I have any photos that are non digital, chucked them all years ago.

The only things I've held on to are two highschool yearbooks.

there are sites you can send boxes full of pictures and they will scan it for you
Really Rogue?

Pardon my naivety, but then scan them to what? What format would they be in then? I'm not sure I am that concerned about keeping most of these. I didn't get far in my project yesterday. Maybe today.

I have shot of espresso...a venti light caramel frapacino, and a doubleshot if necessary. Not. much. sleep.

V--do you live in Denver?

I have thought about scanning all my pics. Prolly a good idea but I don't see myself just setting aside the big block of time that would take.

It's the sort of thing I would do 15 minutes at a time spread over a year or something. Which would be fine. That would work.
