I just saw a preview for Drew Barrymore's new film "Going the Distance." The preview had one of the most overused unfunnies in comedies to date. The old thin wall, neighbor overhearing gag. Jesus. How does shit like that still get greenlit? Nevermind that it's a Drew Barrymore film to begin with...

It wasn't funny the first 100 movies. It's not funny now. Fuck off, Hollywood. Quit puking up the same fucking shit over and over again.

Haven't been to a theater in a long time. Just not my thing.

If the movie is bad I feel like I'm being held hostage by the money I paid.

Yeah the eavesdrop scene is overplayed, and it is usually plays a major role in the plot.:eek1:

I think the Three Stooges perfected it.:3stooges: And should have buried it.

You know what I can't get enough of?

Guys getting kicked in the nuts.

Everyone else in the theater seems to find it as the funniest thing they've ever seen, so by golly, who am I to ruin a good time?

OHHHH HO HO HO HO!! THAT KID HIT HIM RIGHT IN THE NUTS! OH THAT'S RICH!!

There is some stale recycled shit no doubt. But then there are people who can see the same joke a thousand times in a row and still be entertained. It is a match made in heaven.

I swear if they were still making the show Good Times, there are people who would still be laughing their fool heads off and saying, "OMG that's amazing,"every time Jimmy "JJ" Walker said, "Dyn-o-mite!!"

Most people keep little to no memories of what they watch/read. They live in the here and now and want to be entertained.

People have watched 7 (or is it 8?) seasons of 24 from start to finish. Lots of people.

I just saw a trailer for Going The Distance. There was one part where the guy and Drew Barrymore are eating wings and the guy tells her she has a bit of sauce on her face but when they show her she actually has quite a lot of sauce on her face, not just a little bit as the guy's words suggested. It really catches you off balance because he says "a little wing sauce" but it's really quite a lot of sauce. Amazing.

I can tell that movie is going to generate a lot of mirth.

Watch the movie Idiocracy with Luke Wilson! We enjoyed it. The future does not look bright.

Mr. Monkey! One of my favorites:

I was reading an interview with Luke Wilson this morning. He was laughing that a Starbuck's employee saw that it was him in line. When he got to the counter to order his drink, the barista said, "Welcome to Starbucks. I love you". The clip below is from the movie. "Welcome to Costco. I love you".
