Very dumb trade by the Mariners

Unless they think his arm is going to fall off, I don't know why you trade Pineda. Especially, for an unproven catcher who most likely will end up at DH or 1B because of his poor defensive skills.
 
Makes sense for both teams. Mariners were desperate for a bat. Montero's a sure thing to produce offensively. Just don't think he can catch, which really hurts his value. Trading a 22-yr old pitcher when his value will never be higher for a DH is questionable.

M's also got Noesi. He will fare well in the AL West.

Interested to see Pineda in the AL East. I don't think he's a #1. But he's very good and under team control for a long time.

Yanks also signed Kuroda.

Next move will surely be to eat most of Burnett's salary and send him packing.
