Its easier to just start a new thread than exhaust a lot of time and effort into looking up the appropriate one.

I have a Blackberry Curve and sometimes when I visit a webpage it breaks it up or really differs from the way the page looks via computer. I realize some sites are not mobile compatible but I have still seen a difference in how some sites look on my phone vs another style phone.

Do the phones have different browser options and could the browser be the problem or is it more likely that some phones are better suited for internet?

Ive heard talk of unlocking a phone and increasing its capabilities? Is it legal? Where do I go to have things like that done? What can be expected of a phone once its unlocked? Obviously it would void any and all warrantees but that isnt a concern.

I can look all of these questions up through various searches but I just thought there would be some here experienced and willing.

I switched to a straight talk track phone awhile back because my Verizon bill was like $500. Now I pay $45 for unlimited calling, texting and internet.

The internet is pretty shitty but the range is good - it uses the best carrier in the area.

I don't know much about the stuff you are speaking about but if you are looking for bang for your buck I thoroughly recommend it.

Steve/'s, I had the Straight Talk and for the value there is probably no better deal anywhere in the mobile phone industry. I never found myself anyplace where I didn't have service. The ONLY problem was the internet and the fact it was java based.

I had to upgrade in order to have actual internet access anytime, anywhere. If it wasn't for that one thing I would still use Straight Talk.

Opera Mini, Wally. It's by far the best option for non-iPhones.

Though if you're serious about browsing on your phone you really need a touchscreen. Using that ball is slow and frustrating as fok - on top of that the Curve is underpowered compared to newer offerings.

I will check it out Matty. I thought it was fairly fast until yesterday when my buddy and his cheap ass lil Flip dusted my Curve. AT&T vs Verizon sure but also the phones made a difference as well. I still may upgrade though. That Droid is calling to me.

Newer phones/platforms make web browsing a breeze, almost as fast as a full-fledged computer. I tried a friend's Sony Ericsson Droid thingie with the 1ghz processor and it was unbelievably fast & smooth.

The new DROID is out. It's lighter and has a bigger touchscreen keyboard. No physical keyboard but the screen is so responsive you'll probably never miss it. I thought I'd be using the physical keyboard on my first generation, and I rarely if ever do. It also has a HDMI port so you can play media on your TV if you have a newer TV. My mom just got it since her contract was up. I think hands down DROID beats Blackberry by a huge amount.

My 70 year old mother has a fancier phone than I do. That's just wrong.

Matty, as I said that Opera works great and again thanks but how do I make it my primary browser?

I looked in settings and I don't see an option for this. If I open Opera everythings cool but if I open an email with a link and I click the link the default browser takes over.

I'm a pain in the ass but think about it, what else were you doing?

Matty has a fokken job now Wally. He's not complaining, it beats betting into sportsbooks run by career criminals.

I don't know that you can set a different default browser Wally. I remember that my old Blackberry Storm had an option to use either the BB browser or Opera Mini if you held your finger over a link - obviously this doesn't directly apply to your Curve but there might be something similar. Not all that familiar with the trackball interface.

I've tried the Mini Opera twice and finally gave up. It was constantly freezing. We made a bad choice by going with blackberry. Next phone will be more internet friendly.
