New Kids on the Block's Jonathan Knight Outs Himself
Jan. 31, 2011, 3:34 AM EST
Entertainment Tonight.
New Kids on the Block band member Jonathan Knight publicly professed to being a homosexual on Sunday following pop star Tiffany's candid statement on Bravo's "Watch What Happens: Live," concerning their romantic past.
According to The Huffington Post, Tiffany confessed to having a relationship with one of the members of NKOTB while touring with them roughly twenty years ago.
"The quiet one, the shy one," said Tiffany, referring to Knight. "[He] became gay later. I didn't do it. I had issues with that. I was thinking maybe I did. Now looking back when we were dating, he was so much fun. We used to do facials together. He was so easy to talk to."
Tiffany has suffered heat from fans for her remarks and the singer admitted to feeling guilty over her comments, so Knight released a statement on towleroad.com defending the '80s pop star, saying, "I have never been outed by anyone but myself! I did so almost twenty years ago. I never knew that I would have to do it all over again publicly just because I reunited with NKOTB! I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact that I am gay!"
Both NKOTB and Backstreet Boys have reunited and are preparing for a joint North American tour that kicks off this summer.
