Crashed my beater bike pretty good this morning. I overcooked a corner and, knowing that that bike's brakes are shit, I didn't even try to brake. Tried to bunny hop two curbs at about 20mph. I cleared the first one, hit the second one dead on and went over the handlebars. Weeeee.

Currently waiting in the ER. I don't think anything is broken and I didn't black out, but my helmet got destroyed and chest/sternum hurts along with my left thumb.

This is my best crash yet. 🥳

Excellent graphics and photos provided, Matchew!

Glad you didn’t black out. How would you rate that helmet? It’s probably the pictures but it looks a bit shite. But glad you were wearing it!

Did bystanders help you out? Keep us posted. You gon be hurtin tomorrow.

Feel better.

oh fuck that suuuuucks

Helmet did its job. Kask Rapido. I had no idea it was wrecked until I pulled it off. I'm not gonna rebuy the same model simply because it didn't fit my head as well as my previous helmet, a Specialized Align II. I have a spare Specialized at home. It has the MIPS liner thing and stellar safety ratings despite being a cheap helmet.

Two people immediately came up to me. I had to ask them to wait before I could answer them, I had the wind knocked out of me. My Garmin bike computer detected the crash and texted wifey - such a neat feature. I didn't black out and I remember everything, but it was bad enough that I wasn't able to reach my bike computer within the 30-decond grace period it gives you to cancel the emergency procedure/text message.

About to see the doctor. I feel mostly fine while sitting, but getting up and sitting down takes a while. Probably gonna have to prop myself up in bed tonight, ribcage hurts. I know the drill at this point.
