I agree 100%. Pitts probably balked at his price, but he would have been an excellent mentor to another young frenchie goalie. Fluery gets rattled very easily.

Slow down Blitty. Brodeur is good. Really fucking good, BUT remember he played on some very heavily defensive teams with rock solid dmen and again teams that played a defensive style. I'm not trying to take anything away from Brodeur, but I bet Patrick Roy would agree.

He used to date my cousin's sister, real tough guy after a few but guess who wore the pants behind closed doors. I never actually met him but he tried to knock my cousin out back in his Saint-Hyacinthe Laser days, just more of a drunk thing, sore loser at pool. Marty Brodeur was the #1 goalie for Canada's 2002 gold medal team. Great appreciation for the guy.

However he was already a seasoned veteran before that started and 2002 was quite awhile ago.
